The Blaue Gans art hotel is with an age of 660 years the oldest inn in the city and is situated on the famous street "Getreidegasse". In one historic building it uniquely combines contemporary art, inspiring design and the utmost refinement. Works by renowned artists act as powerful accents. The hotel’s individually styled rooms and suites are uncluttered but comfortable and feature a wide range of modern amenities. Winding corridors, romantic vaulted and old joist ceilings lend the hotel a unique character that is artfully contrasted with contemporary design elements. The restaurant with its historic barrel vault, wall murals, wood panelling and traditional Austrian cuisine is an insider’s tip in Salzburg.
The Maisonette Suite offers 115 m² of space on two levels. The bedroom is located directly below the historical roof truss. On the lower level with its living area, bathroom, study and dressing room, the contrast between the old timber floors and ceilings and the modern furnishings sets the tone. The suite was made available to artist Irene Andessner for her “I.A. Mozart” project.
It is the playful lightness that makes Salzburg, the miniature metropolis so distinctive. The enchanting Baroque city on the northern edge of the Alps is so unique that it has long been inscribed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Most of the sights can be seen on a stroll through the historic city centre: the Residence, the Glockenspiel, the cathedral, the Franciscan Church, Mozart Square, the Horse Pond, Hofstallgasse, the Hohensalzburg Fortress and St. Peter’s monastery. The rhythm of the year is determined by the countless artistic and cultural events. The highlight of the year is undoubtedly the Salzburg Festival. In the city of Salzburg you’ll find for your stay the Arthotel Blaue Gans and the Hotel & Villa Auersperg.
