Around just 70 kilometres from Mozart's birthplace of Salzburg lies the valley of Großarltal in the district of Pongau. Home to the municipalities of Großarl and Hüttenschlag, the valley is one of the longest in Hohe Tauern National Park. It is situated at the national park's very heart with the High Tauern and Lower Tauern mountains rising up on either side. Part of the Ski Amadé ski region, the resort of Großarltal-Dorfgastein has 73 kilometres of pistes and state-of-the-art lifts for the ultimate skiing experience. And that's not all: leave the pistes for great cross-country skiing, winter hikes and sledging. During the summer months, guests can explore around 400 km of signposted hiking trails.
