The Strommer winery is located in Purbach on Lake Neusiedl in sunny Burgenland. The vines of junior winemaker Thomas Strommer grow along the Leithagebirge and the western shore of Lake Neusiedl. In the mild climate of the region, the grapes thrive on the slopes of the mountains in soils with a high proportion of shell limestone and slate, while they find more loam at the foot of the slopes. The grapes are harvested by hand, processed particularly carefully and then mature in the 150-year-old wine cellar.
The family business offers a wide range of red wines, from the classically developed Blaufränkisch to St. Laurent, Pinot Noir, Zweigelt, Syrah and Cuvées aged in barrique barrels. The selection of white wines ranges from Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Grüner Veltliner and Muskat Ottonell to Chardonnay aged in barrique barrels.
The wines can be tasted in the cellar tavern of the Strommers.
