In summer, the Baltic Sea is often crystal clear and calm. In winter, it becomes stormier and rougher. The waves crash against the coast. The air is particularly fresh and clear. But will it be uncomfortable? Quite the opposite. It\u2019s as if the sea<\/a> is letting go of its summer exertions and returning to its true self. This also makes us humans take a deep breath and switch off, or as the North German saying goes, now is the time to \u2018let the wind blow you through<\/em>\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is particularly magical in Niendorf<\/em>, a charming little neighbourhood of Timmendorfer Strand, where the SeeHuus Hotel<\/strong> is located. The long promenade invites you to take winter walks past sea buckthorn bushes in the dunes. When it\u2019s frosty, the dune grasses sparkle in the sun and ice floes appear in Niendorf harbour<\/em>. If it also snows, the beach is transformed into an almost surreal white sea. With a bit of luck, you might even find Baltic gold, i.e. amber, which is washed up on the coast after the autumn storms. And what could be nicer than retreating into the warmth after a day outdoors?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An open fire is blazing, candles are burning and a Christmas countdown is displayed at reception. The pool area is also cosy and warm after a visit to the sauna. Afterwards, a hot cup of tea and quickly into a cosy bed. Thanks to the direct location on the beach, you can watch the sunsets, which now impress with particularly strong orange and pink colours, directly from the rooms with sea views. At night, not only are the stars clearly visible, but the lights of the Christmas markets on the beach are also reflected in the sea in an enchanting way. And the next time we see a shooting star, we might wish ourselves a bit of luck in our search for Baltic gold<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
