AGRAD CHALETS: Arriving Home
Arriving Home
A chalet village with modern alpine architecture in the Bavarian moorland, warm-hearted, authentic and peaceful.

A place you don’t have to leave
Do you even want to leave the chalet? It’s not necessary.
At dawn, the breakfast basket is lovingly placed in front of the door, filled with homemade juice, still-warm sourdough bread and cheese from the neighboring village. In the evening, a fondue with melted cheese or hearty beef broth awaits. If you like, you can choose a classic snack platter or an à la carte dish such as goulash, gnocchi or pasta. And for those who want to step up to the fire themselves: the barbecue packages turn grilling into an uncomplicated feast.

Time for the simple things
How else can you spend the day? By reading, for example. In the custom-made bookshelves you’ll find children’s books, novels, crime stories, hiking guides and coffee table books – and perhaps a book you’ve secretly always wanted to read… Your own music plays through Marshall speakers, while the cozy sofas remind you that happiness sometimes simply lies in sitting and letting time quietly pass by.

Nature, calm and movement
If you do step outside the chalet door, you’ll find options in every direction: a walk through the village, a few relaxing laps in the pool or a yoga session, a workout, perhaps a soothing massage. The adjacent moorland also invites you to slow down with paths through vastness and silence. And yet every one of these moments naturally leads you back – to your Bavarian home away from home.

The essence of a chalet
A chalet opens doors without moving them; shows paths without requiring you to walk them; and offers peace even when the world outside is in turmoil.
A name with meaning
Chalet – a beautiful word, isn’t it? It evokes images of comfort, tranquility, the mountains and that special moment of being exactly where you should be. Agrad, as they say in Bavaria. So melodious and full of local character, this word seems just right as the name for the chalet village in the idyllic moorland of Aschau im Chiemgau.
Arriving
The ensemble designed by Brüderl Architektur includes, in addition to a main building with fifteen suites, twelve chalets that give alpine traditions a contemporary character. Built from local spruce wood and stone, they radiate warmth and naturalness. But anyone expecting a traditional or rustic appearance will be surprised: the two-story chalets with open gallery impress with generous ceiling heights, timeless design, high-quality materials and an impressive sense of space and openness.

At the same time, they provide exactly the sense of security you expect from a retreat. A private garden opens up space for quiet moments – equipped with its own Weber grill, a spacious sauna and a hot tub that can be enjoyed warm or refreshingly cool, depending on your preference.
