A FAVOURITE SYMPHONY COMPOSED OF COLOURS AND PATTERNS
In 2012 UNESCO announced that the city of Graz had become a member of the international Creative Cities Network, thus officially joining the ranks of those cities with a particularly strong forward-looking orientation. Only nine other cities in the world can call themselves a “City of Design”, among them, Berlin, Montreal and Buenos Aires. In Graz this is not just exemplified by the spectacular buildings that have been erected in recent years – such as the Kunsthaus, Mur Island, MUMUTH, Botanical Gardens, MP09 and the university buildings – but in particular by the enormous creative potential in a wide range of disciplines – from art to commerce, fashion to technology.
