Vestige Collection – Spain’s Art of Keeping History Alive
When old walls begin to tell new stories
Spain is often associated with sun-drenched coastlines, tapas and the Mediterranean way of life. Yet one of the country’s greatest treasures was created centuries ago. Historic estates, palaces and manor houses tell the story of a Spain whose heritage has been carefully preserved through the generations.
The five properties of the Vestige Collection invite guests to experience this remarkable legacy. From the historic estates of Mallorca and Menorca to the architectural gems of Asturias, each hotel shares the same philosophy: giving the past a new purpose without losing its original soul.

The legacy of centuries
Travelling through Spain, one quickly notices something unique. Across many regions, historic monasteries, manor houses, country estates and noble residences continue to shape the landscape just as they have for centuries. Rather than becoming museums, many of these buildings remain part of everyday life. For Spaniards, cultural heritage isn’t simply something to preserve—it is something to live with.

The hotels of the Vestige Collection embrace this very idea. They don’t create new stories; they continue the ones that have already been written.
What exactly is a finca?
Anyone visiting Mallorca or Menorca will come across this word sooner or later. Originally, a finca referred to a rural estate or agricultural property, often managed by the same family for generations. These estates were far more than private homes. They formed the centre of local life, agriculture and community, shaping the culture of the Balearic Islands for centuries.
Today, Vestige Son Vell and Vestige Son Ermita & Binidufà preserve this heritage by bringing together historic architecture, untouched nature and the Mediterranean lifestyle in one authentic experience.

Spain’s remarkable way of preserving history
Few countries in Europe have succeeded in protecting as many historic buildings as Spain. One of the key reasons is the country’s famous Paradores programme. Throughout the twentieth century, castles, monasteries, palaces and other historic buildings were carefully restored and transformed into hotels instead of being abandoned or demolished. The idea was simple yet visionary: preserve architectural heritage while allowing future generations to experience it firsthand.
Although the Vestige Collection is not part of the Paradores network, it follows the very same philosophy. Each property represents a different chapter of Spain’s history. While Vestige Son Vell and Vestige Son Ermita & Binidufà celebrate the island’s traditional country estates, Vestige Miramar, Vestige Palacio de Figueras and Vestige Santa Ana demonstrate how historic architecture can begin a new chapter without losing its identity.

When history becomes part of the journey
Most of us experience history in museums. We read information panels, admire exhibitions and then continue our journey. Yet there are places where history is experienced differently. Spending an evening on a centuries-old estate, wandering through historic gardens or sleeping within walls that have witnessed generations of life often reveals far more about a destination than any guidebook ever could. That is what makes places like these so special. You don’t simply visit history. For a brief moment… you become part of it.

Places that stay with us
After every journey, certain memories remain. A breathtaking landscape. A meaningful conversation. A meal we’ll never forget. Yet the most memorable journeys are often those that create a genuine connection with a place and its story. The hotels of the Vestige Collection are far more than exceptional places to stay. Each of them preserves a piece of Spain that has evolved over centuries and continues to inspire those who experience it today.
The beauty of a place often captures us at first sight. Its story stays with us long after we’ve left.
