Küglerhof – September Stays Outdoors
Our Hotel of the Month shows why late summer in South Tyrol is far from over. With an outdoor sauna, wine tastings, open-air cinema and culture in Merano, September offers plenty of good reasons to stay outside just a little longer.
At Küglerhof in September, there is no need to choose between summer and autumn just yet. The days are slowly becoming milder, the season around Merano is beginning to change – and yet so much of what we love at this time of year still happens outdoors.
That is exactly why Küglerhof is our Hotel of the Month for September.

No Reason to Head Indoors Yet
The morning can begin with yoga or Pilates before the day really gets going. Later, the outdoor sauna awaits, and even massages can be enjoyed outside. It suits a hotel whose garden is affectionately called her “Green Island” by host Karoline Dilitz. Meadows, fruit trees and plenty of greenery are simply part of a stay at Küglerhof. And September adds something else: that special time in South Tyrol when the intense summer heat begins to fade, yet every opportunity to spend time outdoors is still gladly taken.

One Evening, Two Pretty Good Options
Even as the sun begins to sit lower in the sky, the day at Küglerhof is far from over. In September, wine tastings and open-air cinema evenings are part of the programme. One evening, we might discover a new favourite South Tyrolean wine; the next, we are sitting outside in front of the screen. It really does not take much more than that. These are exactly the kind of evenings that make September here so enjoyable: sitting outside, taking your time, and only eventually noticing that summer has already begun to mingle with autumn.
And Then There’s Merano
Anyone visiting Küglerhof in September has another good reason to spend an evening in Merano. The 41st südtirol festival merano.meran continues until 22 September 2026, bringing international orchestras, soloists and ensembles to special venues in and around the city. From the Kurhaus and the municipal theatre to churches and other historic venues, Merano becomes a stage for several weeks. And the final days of the festival still feature a series of outstanding concerts.
A September day at Küglerhof might therefore begin with yoga, continue with an afternoon in the outdoor sauna and end with a concert in Merano, a wine tasting or a film under the open sky.

Perhaps that is exactly what makes this month so appealing:
