Küglerhof – One Last Visit to South Tyrol Before the Season Ends
On 5 November, the breakfast table at Küglerhof will be set for the last time this year. The final guests will finish their coffee, perhaps take one more look towards Merano and eventually make their way home. Then the doors will close. Not just for a few days. The season at Küglerhof will be over, and it will be several months before the hotel is filled with guests again. Until then, though, there are still a few days left to experience a very different side of South Tyrol.
One More Trip into the Mountains
By early November, South Tyrol already looks different from just a few weeks before. The mornings are cooler, the days shorter, and winter is slowly making its presence felt in the mountains. But there is still time to head out. Küglerhof is located in Dorf Tirol, above Merano, on the edge of the Texel Group Nature Park. Around 70 kilometres of marked hiking trails run through the surrounding area, and the Hochmuth cable car is just a ten-minute walk from the hotel. We don’t need to break any records or feel obliged to conquer every summit in early November. It is enough to make the most of those days when we can still set off into the mountains straight from the hotel in the morning and return to the very same place a few hours later. Because in November, coming back has its own particular pleasures.
When Wellness Feels Even Better in November
The water in Küglerhof’s panoramic outdoor pool is still pleasantly warm. In the garden, an outdoor sauna by the pond awaits, while the spa offers massages for those days when we’d rather swap our hiking boots for a bathrobe. In November, all of this feels a little different from summer. Outside, the change of season is already noticeable. After the cooler air, the warm water feels even better, and from the sauna we look out over a landscape we were exploring on foot just a few hours earlier.
Küglerhof has timed its final offer of the year for precisely these days. From 1 to 5 November, guests can stay for four nights, with one night complimentary. Each guest also receives a personal massage voucher worth €20. A little extra time to enjoy exactly what brought us here in the first place.
When We Know This Is It for the Year
Usually, we arrive at a hotel and simply assume that everything will carry on as normal after we leave. The next morning, other guests will sit at our table. Someone else will swim in the pool. Different jackets will hang by the entrance. In early November, however, things are a little different at Küglerhof. We know these are the last days of the year when we can experience all of this here. So we make a little more of the morning before heading out. Take one more walk into the mountains. Stay in the warm water a little longer. Make time for that massage. And by evening, we’re already thinking about what we’d still like to do the next day.
Not because we’re saying goodbye. But because we tend to make better use of our time when we know it’s limited.
