OLM : A Circular Vision in the Ahrntal Valley
An eco-aparthotel where architecture, energy and nature flow in harmony
When a thread is pulled from the green fabric of nature, it draws attention. The same happened with OLM, a circular eco-aparthotel in South Tyrol’s Ahrntal Valley that seems to have landed like a futuristic sculpture — yet lives entirely in tune with its surroundings.
A Perfect Circle
Before OLM, there was a small guesthouse on the same site. The new construction required large-scale earthworks, especially for the geothermal system that now forms the core of the hotel’s energy concept. Initial skepticism quickly turned into admiration: OLM is energy self-sufficient and CO₂-neutral, transforming the idea of sustainability into a tangible experience.
Architecture as a Cycle
The circular design embodies the philosophy of the closed loop – a symbol of balance, continuity, and renewal.
“Some called it a UFO,” the team recalls with a smile. But rather than something alien, OLM emerged from a deeply human vision: to create a place where architecture and landscape coexist naturally, beautifully, and sustainably.
A Landmark of Mindful Travel
Today, OLM stands as a new icon of the Ahrntal Valley – a testament to mindful travel and modern, sustainable living. A place where nature is not only the backdrop, but a living part of the story.
