NESSLERHOF: Summerness

What makes summer at Nesslerhof so special? It is the feeling of walking barefoot through the meadows, smelling lavender and wormwood, tasting mountain herbs and, most recently, experiencing Finnish comfort and Japanese tranquillity.

Lightness

In the Großarl Valley, summer can be felt in the air. It carries the scent of forests and mountain herbs, spreads the warmth of the sun across the slopes and makes the alpine meadows glow in rich colours. And at Nesslerhof? It becomes a very special feeling of summer. One shaped by nature and thoughtfully refined by the Neudegger family. A feeling that remains, even when mist drifts across the mountain peaks. Not least because of the new Japanese and Finnish wellness rituals.

Summer offers what is often missed during the rest of the year: a sense of freedom and lightness. Taking off your shoes, walking through dew-covered grass and not worrying for a moment whether your feet stay clean. At Nesslerhof, this is simply part of the experience. The 3,000 m² Living Garden seems made for exactly that. Here, summer is in its element. Verbena, lavender, coneflowers, hydrangeas and daylilies set the tone, while nature hums and flourishes all around. The natural swimming pond sparkles in the morning as if it had discovered the day first. And somewhere, there is always a place inviting you to stay just a little longer.

Happiness

And all around? The mountains with their 40 managed alpine huts, scented with hay, forest air and herbs that blend into the atmosphere of the valley. Perfect for hiking, biking or simply daydreaming and deciding not to go anywhere at all.

Calmness

Those who wish can stay for the first coffee of the day and later enjoy dinner at Atelier N., where regional products, mountain herbs and honest cuisine come together naturally.

Those seeking peace and a slower pace will encounter Japanese and Finnish influences that blend effortlessly into the Austrian landscape. In the Onsen pool, heated to a soothing 40–42 degrees Celsius and overlooking the mountains, and in the Finnish sauna crafted from local silver fir, warmth quickly reaches both body and soul.

Freshness

Summer has also arrived in the newly redesigned double and family rooms: filled with light, spaciousness and alpine comfort. Retreats that bring the mountains indoors and, almost effortlessly, make departure day feel a little further away.
